A new Terius wallet starts with a recovery phrase of 12 or 24 words. That phrase is the master key. Terius does not keep a copy.

Recover File
On the welcome screen
Open an encrypted Terius file with its password.
Open Terius and choose Create wallet. Pick 12 words or 24 words. Write the words down on paper, in order, and keep the paper offline.
The app then asks you to confirm one of the words. This checks that the phrase was saved, not that Terius stored it.
Set the password
The password encrypts the wallet file on this device. It is not the recovery phrase. If you forget the password, you restore the wallet from the phrase.
You can add a passphrase. The same phrase plus a different passphrase opens a different wallet. If you skip it, you open the main wallet.
Write the phrase down
The words are shown once. Write them on paper, in order, and keep the paper offline. Terius does not keep a copy.
The file stays on this computer
The password seals the wallet file on this device. Moving to another computer still needs the seed phrase, or an exported copy of that file.
Confirm one word
After the words are shown, Terius asks for one of them, picked at random. That checks the paper copy. Terius still does not keep the phrase.
Where the file is saved
The password screen also asks where to put the encrypted file. The default is the app data folder. You can pick another folder and a file name. The file has no extension.
