How to restore a wallet from a seed phrase

Restore by entering the 12 or 24 words in the same order you wrote them. Do this where nobody can see the screen.

Enter the words

  1. Create wallet

    On the welcome screen

A new phrase of 12 or 24 words.

  2. Recover Phrase

    On the welcome screen

Type the words you already wrote down.

  3. Recover File

    On the welcome screen

Open an encrypted Terius file with its password.

On the welcome screen choose Recover Phrase. Type each word in the same order you wrote it down. A wrong word or a swapped pair opens a different, empty wallet.

Do this where nobody else can see the screen. Do not enter the phrase on a website.

12 or 24 words

Use the same length you chose when the wallet was created. A 12-word phrase will not restore a wallet that was made with 24 words.

The words come from the standard list. If a word is not on that list, it was written down wrong. Go back to the paper and check the spelling before you continue.

Add the passphrase if you set one

The seed phrase alone opens the main wallet. If you added a passphrase, type that too. The same phrase plus a different passphrase opens a different wallet.

Terius cannot recover a forgotten passphrase. Without it, that hidden wallet stays closed.

Set a new password

After the words are accepted, set a password for the file on this device. The password is not the seed phrase. It only opens the file on this computer.

A phrase in the clipboard

If the words are already on the clipboard, Terius can offer to paste them. Pasting from a clipboard still means the phrase was copied somewhere. Paper is safer.
